Family Upgrade

We are happy to announce that we are "upgrading" our family to FOUR this coming March. We are beyond thrilled and very excited to embark on this adventure again.

Karys will be a wonderful Big Sister and we are excited for her to have a sibling in the house. It's still crazy for me to believe that I am pregnant and we're going to have a new baby soon! I'm also very happy to have another March baby because I loved being pregnant during the winter months and the holidays with Karys. It was such a special time of year!

And yes, we have created a totsite to document the pregnancy as I did before with Karys.

Thank you all for your love and support!

What Can You Build?

Last week we went to Heath & Melissa's new house for dinner. After dinner, Karys decided she wanted to test out the game room so Aunt Mel brought out the blocks and let the creative minds go to work...

"I Love Rock n Roll..."

Lately Karys has loved to "make music". This involves playing on Daddy's drums and guitars from Rock Band. So this weekend Karys and I went to Toys R Us and got her a special guitar just for her - pink of course! She has been rocking out nonstop!

Our 5th Wedding Anniversary!

I cannot believe that 5 years ago today I married my best friend. It seems like the time has flown by... I would not have my life any other way than how it is right now. You are my heart, my world, my life....I love you.

Happy Anniversary, Babe.

Laundry Time!

Karys has been really wanting to help with whatever we're doing lately. So when I was folding towels this weekend, she wanted to help. I asked her if she could go take the second load of towels out of the dryer and bring them in the living room.

Something tells me that I won't always see this smiling girl doing laundry when she hits her teen years! I suppose I can just show her these pictures to illustrate how fun laundry can be, right? Haha!

Summer Days & Nights

Since we got back from Paris, we really haven't stopped going-going-going. It seems there is always something going on. And if I'm not mistaken, I think our weekends are booked up through August! There is a lot to look forward to this summer!

Our company took us to an Astro's game last Thursday. Besides the annoying Cubs fans behind us, it was a lot of fun.

Rachel, Steph & Brooke:
My youngest sister, Ashley, graduated from high school last week and this weekend we had a graduation pool party for her at our house. I don't think I've ever seen so many teenagers together since I was in high school and luckily I have a few more years before I have to do it again with Karys :)

Congrats Ashley!

All 5 sisters - my mom is the pretty one on the far right :)

After everyone left, my sister and I took a little nap, woke up refreshed and ready for a fun summer night. We had Angela & Chris, Philip & Cara, Darren and Rachel over to hang out and watch the UFC fight. Angela and Philip are my cousins and Darren is an old friend of ours from high school (and Tim went to junior high with him too). We went swimming and stayed up entirely too late since my mom came and stole Karys for an overnight visit. Have we mentioned we love that Nana lives just down the street? :)

Steph, Rach & Ang - we have a pretty family huh? :)

It was a long night....and we got thrown in the pool...

The next couple of weeks are going to prove to be just as busy. So expect a lot more updates!

Paris Trip: Catacombs

Day #8:
I guess we should say that on the 8th day, we rested! By Saturday we were both pretty worn out so we slept in, went to lunch and then headed back to the hotel. Steph decided that her feet had taken enough abuse so I headed down the street to the Catacombs, one of my favorite sites in Paris.

If the lights go out, things might get a little hairy:

The line at the top was used to guide tourists before they closed off the alternate routes. Back then, if you went off course, you were on your own:

These carvings were done by a Catacomb worker from memory. Apparently before working in the Catacombs, he spent many years in prison and all he could see from his prison cell were these buildings:

Did anyone know that Larry, Curly and Moe were buried in the Catacombs?

Paris Trip: Palace of Versailles

Day #6:
On Thursday, Tim and Mike had to work all day so Amanda and I ventured out shopping. We didn't think to take any pictures, but we had a really nice day. We navigated the subways all on our own (no small feat for us!) and made it home in one piece! When the boys finished up that evening we met them at the hotel before heading out to dinner.

Day #7:
Friday we devoted the entire day to the Palace of Versailles. And it ended up being one of my favorite things we visited - if not the favorite. The gardens in particular. Again, this was another very long line but it was very neat to experience. We didn't get to go through all of it, but we toured a great deal before venturing out to the gardens. If I ever go back, I will definitely go to the gardens again!

Hall of Mirrors - very cool!

Paris Trip: The Louvre

Day #5:
One of the things I was most looking forward to on our trip was The Louvre. And it did not disappoint. According to Tim, this would take days to go through if you wanted to see everything and since time did not allow for that, we got through the parts we were really interested in seeing. For both of us that obviously included seeing the Mona Lisa. And for Tim, that also included the Egyptian section and for me it included Napoleon III's Apartments from the days when The Louvre was a palace.

The ceilings were incredible:

This was a real mummy - kind of freaky I think:
This is "Egypt Brinks" so Tim took a picture:
Yes, those are real mummified cats...again a bit freaky:

This reminded me of the movie The Da Vinci Code:
Many, many statues:

I could have seriously moved right in...

Paris Trip: Eiffel Tower

Day #3:
The next day we ventured back to the site of the Eiffel Tower - this time in hopes of going to the top. While we were disappointed that the very top level was closed, we still got to go up to the second highest level. Waiting in line was the worst part, but the view was totally worth it. And finally this was something Tim hadn't done before from when he studied abroad in Paris for 6 weeks in college!
